Anaesthesia
In conformity with international
standards and practices of anaesthesia, the department provides
consistent medical service through the conduct of fundamental and
applied skills. It recognises the importance of appropriate
application of the discipline as essential to safe and effective
clinical services.
Facilities and services:
- Anaesthetic services for general and vascular surgery,
bronchoscopy, orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, dental, ENT with a
high throughput of patients of paediatric age among all specialities
- Dedicated surgical area consisting of five operation theatres
equipped with state-of-the-art anaesthetic systems, a recovery room
and a cardiac operating room for cardiothoracic procedures
- 24-hour obstetric epidural analgesia
- Acute pain service
- Clinical supervision of anaesthetic staff in-training
- Constant co-ordination of functions with Intensive and Cardiac
Care Units
