Diabetes and Obesity Treatment
Upon studying the history of diabetes
mellitus, the team learned that this disease is running a fast epidemic
course approaching 30% of the population in the UAE. It is one of the
commonest diseases in the productive age. Now it is much easier to
achieve in preventing complications and in this way, we can participate
actively in building
a healthier community in the UAE.
As part of the Diabetic Services, we have:
A. Prevention Department
1. Mass screening for early detection of diabetes, hypertension, high
lipids for the community.
2. Free educational programs on diabetes.
3. Monthly educational courses for the public to become aware of
diabetes.
B. Therapeutic Department
- Preemptive consultation for candidates at risk of diabetes.
- Ongoing medical attention to all diagnosed cases in the attempt to
keep the patient well controlled.
We attend to all types of diabetes: type 1, type 2, gestational
diabetes, and any complication.
Our updated protocol ensures early diagnosis and evaluation of
target-organ damage and measures to protect them.
Periodic monitoring system as expressed by flow charts to ensure a close
and fruitful contact with the patients.
