The Oncology Department is dedicated to
treating adult cancer patients with solid tumors (such as
breast, bowel or lungs) by using non-surgical treatments. These
treatments include chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy,
and palliative care. Cancer surgery can be performed in the
surgical department of Al Noor Hospital, but patients requiring
radiotherapy will then be referred to other hospitals such as
Tawam or Mafraq Hospital. Investigations to evaluate the type,
spread and stage of the cancer using histopathology, cytology,
radiology and laboratory tests are also available. Early
diagnosis and proper primary treatment guarantees the best
results. Surgical intervention and radiotherapy control the
disease locally, but oncological treatment prevents its spread
around the body. The department follows internationally approved
treatment protocols recommended by American and European Cancer
Organizations. All of the modern drugs registered by Ministry of
Health, Abu Dhabi, are available. |
