Day 1:

• Morning Sickness.
• Physiological Changes in Pregnancy (breast changes).
• Preparing for the birth experience, Forceps, Caesarian section and Normal vaginal delivery (video material is available).

• Emergency cases .
• Patients rights and responsibilities.
• Visit to delivery room.

Day 2:

• Positions for labor, relaxation and breathing techniques (video material is available).
• Communicating with your baby.
• Bathing a baby (video material is available).
• Care of new born baby.
• Breastfeeding, positioning and attachment (video material is available).
• Dealing with breastfeeding problem.
• Artificial baby milks, risks of formula (power point presentation is available).
• The importance of breast milk.
• Storage of breast milk (video material is available).
• Breast pump and hand expression of breast milk (video material is available).

Day 3:

Questions for expectants mothers:

• What is my attitude towards birth.
• What do I need to know about the process of labor, physically, emotionally and practically?.
• What awareness do I have of my own bodies’ ability to give birth?.
• Who what may help me at this time?.
• How do I Cope?.
• What do I have to bring to hospital for me and for my baby? (video material is available).
• Safe co-sleeping with your baby and how to prevent sids (video material is available).

Day 4:

• Post partum care.
• Wound care after caesarian section and episiotomy.
• Care of the breasts (engorged breasts and cracked nipples).
• Advice about baby feeding, cup feeding etc; (video material available).
• Sterilization of feeding bottles and preparation of artificial milk (for non breast feeding mother only).
• Dealing with baby skin rashes, sore buttocks, etc.
• Vaccination and neonatal screening.
• Oral thrush and treatment for the baby.
• Cord care and eye care for the baby.
• How to deal with a fussy and colicky baby.
